Introducing the Interstate Font This digital typeface was created by Tobias Frere-Jones between 1993 and 1999, and its license is held by the Font Bureau.

The basic inspiration for the styling of the letters of this font was Type E of the FHWA series of fonts and this styling was also found in kabel font. These are signage alphabet and all of them are handwritten by Dr. Theodore W. Forbes. He wrote these letters for United States Federal Highway Administration.

There are many slashes that also in the full version and there are both the upper and lowercase letters that also with different types of punctures and Numerals. This light bold of this font is present inside Microsoft Word.
