Europa Grotesk Font

Scangraphic Digital Type Collection unveiled the Europa Grotesk Font Family, offering 22 different styles and family package options. The release introduced two versions for most typefaces in the Scangraphic Type Collection. One version aims for text typesetting, while the other suits headline typesetting (SH: Scangraphic Headline Types and SB: Scangraphic Bodytypes).

The spacing is where the differences are most obvious. For easier reading, the body types of this font have been modified. To properly meet the needs of headline typesetting, the Headline Types are noticeably narrower. Each of these types of varieties has its own unique set of kerning tables. There are changes to the design in addition to the spacing adjustments.

To meet the optical requirements for setting type in small sizes, hairlines and serifs were thickened or the entire typeface was adjusted for a number of body types. All Headline Types complements for the German lower-case diacritical marks contain alternative integrated accents that permit the compact setting of lower-case headlines. The characters of this font can also be paired with the avenir font.
